In a heartwarming display of commitment to developing women’s football in Malawi, National Women’s Football Association chairperson Adelaide Migogo has donated sets of uniforms worth K3.5 million to 10 Northern Region Women’s Football League teams.

The donation, made from Migogo’s personal resources, aims to mitigate the challenges teams face due to lack of sponsorship.

Speaking about her motivation, Migogo said, “I am aware of the challenges that teams are facing due to lack of sponsorship and the support is meant to mitigate that. I also believe that the uniforms will motivate the players and at the same time woo other girls to join the sport.” This gesture underscores her dedication to promoting women’s football in the country, as she also serves as a Football Association of Malawi (FAM) executive committee member.

Northern Region Women’s Football Association chairperson Ivy Mwafulirwa praised Migogo for her generosity, stating that the donation will significantly motivate the teams. “We are thrilled to receive this donation, which will go a long way in boosting the morale of our players,” Mwafulirwa said.
