LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-In a quest to crown another Mr. Malawi in 2024, Mapaza will be facing each other in stiff competition set for December 1, 2024.
Body Building Association of Malawi President, Benny Phiri has made this announcement in an interview with this publication on Monday.
Phiri has since urged Mapanza to start preparing for this tournament to be held in the capital city Lilongwe.
“We have lined up a series of competitions start from districts, regions in order to identify national players. All athletes who love this sport are invited to participating,” he explained.
According to Phiri there are plenty of opportunities for athletes who will qualify including participating in various international tournaments coming soon.
“Malawi body builders have similar chance with other athletes in the SADC region and beyond. Body Building is a great sport, let’s support our youth to occupy international stages fly the Malawi flag high and come back with medals,” he said.
Isaac Mwangonde father of Mr Malawi position who won several times consecutively has hailed the Association’s leadership for transparent policies saying that will uplift the sport in the country.
Mwangonde a seasoned and multi-talented coach including body building, karate, boxing, javelin, discuss and short put has appealed to sponsors to trust the new leadership and inject resources for a colorful 2024 Mr. Malawi Competition.
“As a nation let’s embrace body building tournaments which help the youth expose their talents. Body Building is a good career one can depend on to earn a living if well harnessed,” said the veteran body builder.
One of the athletes Chipiliro Maxwell says he is very ready to show off his muscles on stage and has since encouraged fellow youth to get set for this great competition ahead.
