BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Former Flames head coach Meke Mwase has threatened to seek legal action within 48 hours against Football Association of Malawi (FAM) for unfair termination of his contract as the national team head coach.

Mwase is demanding full withdraw of the media statement (indicating his termination), unconditional apology and his restoration as head coach for Flames or alternatively payment of his full wages, salaries and all benefits for the reminder of his contract.

The former Flames head coach also claims that the mother football governing body owes him the sum of MK500,000,000.00 meant for compensation of his contract termination.

He further seek clarification from FAM on reasons why he has been fired.

Mwase says is yet to be told about his sacking arguing that he has been hearing it on social media.

“I am just hearing from the social media that I have been fired and I have not been called told be to about the reasons.

“As per my contract, my performance is supposed to determine my exit or firing. I was given a target to qualify for the AFCON finals and at least reach the round of 16 . I did that to perfection and I don’t know why I have been fired,” says Mwase.

Meanwhile, FAM has reinstated and deployed Mwase as the U23 national team head coach, barely few days after firing him as the Flames head coach.
