Mwaungulu, Nkhoma commit future to TP Mazembe until 2027

KINSHASA-(MaraviPost)-Malawi’s Flames midfield star Patrick Mwaungulu has extended his stay at Congolese football giants TP Mazembe, with the club confirming that the Malawian international will remain at the Lubumbashi based side until 2027.

According to a statement released by TP Mazembe on their official media platforms, Mwaungulu’s new contract goes beyond his initial two year deal which was set to expire in 2026.

Mwaungulu joined the African powerhouse from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and has since earned the trust of the club through his discipline, work rate and growing influence in midfield.

The contract extension is seen as a strong vote of confidence in the Flames player, who continues to be regarded as one of Malawi’s brightest football talents playing abroad.

In a related development, TP Mazembe has also moved to secure the services of another Malawian international, Lanjesi Nkhoma.

Nkhoma has also extended his stay at TP Mazembe until May 2027, ending speculation about his future at the club.

Like Mwaungulu, Nkhoma joined Mazembe from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, with both players making the move as part of the club’s efforts to strengthen its squad with emerging African talent.

The duo previously faced challenges linked to registration and limited game time but the new contracts signal the club’s long term plans for both players.

Mazembe’s decision to tie down both Malawians reflects confidence in their potential to contribute meaningfully to the team’s domestic and continental ambitions.
