LUSAKA-(MaraviPost)-In a bizarre turn of events, a 5-year-old child who went missing in the Zambian town of Chawama on March 6, 2024 was found eight days later in the capital city, Lusaka.
The child, whose identity has not been revealed, was discovered by passersby near an abandoned house and was taken to the Misisi police station.
Danny Mwale, a spokesperson for the Zambian police, confirmed that the child was reported missing on March 6th and was found on March 14th.
The child had been in the company of several unknown men during the time of her disappearance, raising concerns about safety and well-being.
Upon being taken into police custody, the child was uncommunicative and showed signs of trauma. Medical examinations revealed that the child had been subjected to sexual abuse and traumatic experiences during her time away from home.
