BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost )-Singer Patience Namadingo has changed his plans to renovate ambulances at Mangochi District Hospital,instead, he will build a classroom block at Wataka Primary School in Machinga District.
According to a Facebook post by the artist, school officials requested his assistance.
He says the request came on the day he was leaving Mangochi, where he had been meeting with district council officials.
Namadingo says after finalizing all necessary arrangements,he will visit the school to assess the site and that the construction of the classroom block is scheduled to begin next week.
He highlighted the importance of the project, explaining that the school serves students from eight villages in Machinga and a part of Mangochi.
Namadingo also noted the unsafe learning conditions caused by a dilapidated classroom.
The school, built in 1934 by the Catholic Church, has a damaged classroom that poses a significant risk to the students.
