Namalomba happy with productive Parliamentary session debates

LILONGWE(MaraviPost)-Deputy Leader of the house ,Shadreck Namalomba has applauded Members of Parliament (MPs) for delivering well-researched and high-quality debates during the August parliamentary sessions.

In his weekly round-up, Namalomba said he is impressed by the level of commitment demonstrated by legislators from both the government and opposition benches.

He noted that MPs have shown “a renewed seriousness and dedication to addressing national issues with depth, clarity, and responsibility.”

According to the Deputy Leader, the smooth deliberations witnessed throughout the week reflect a growing maturity within the House.

He emphasized that even newly elected MPs have quickly adapted to parliamentary procedures, displaying strong passion for their constituencies and the country’s development agenda.

“Despite having several new members, we have seen quality engagement, well-researched contributions, and a desire to build Malawi. This is exactly the spirit needed for meaningful legislative progress,” Namalomba said.

He further highlighted that constructive debates on critical national matters such as governance reforms, economic recovery measures, and social service delivery demonstrated a collective will to advance the welfare of Malawians.

Namalomba said he expects the same energy and professionalism to continue in the coming sessions, stressing that Parliament must remain a platform where ideas, not personal attacks, drive the national agenda.

The August meetings continue next week, with several bills and policy discussions scheduled to come before the House.

He also mentioned the current network challenges but assured Malawians that forex will be available in the country and that the network issues will be resolved.

He assured the public that water transport will be improved, as the government is in the process of purchasing another ship.
