LILONGWE Maravipost: Mary Navisha, the President of Women’s of all Political Parties, has called on Minister of Higher Education ,Jessie Kabwila to apologize to UDF Machinga East legislator, Esther Jolobala for calling her stupid.
Navisha told Maravipost on Monday, February 23rd, that Kabwila should also apologize to all the women members in the August house.
Navisha expressed regret that women are deterring other women from speaking up in the August house.
.She adds that the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has a huge task to promote women in their party, in line with the behavior of the current Publicity Secretary.
She adds that the minister of Health, Khumbize Kandodo, stood up more than twice to interrupt her fellow women.
“No wonder MCP women aspirants are losing primaries as the party has no heart for women, said Navisha.
Kabwila calls Machinga lawmaker Ester Jolobala stupid the time she was contributing the state nation Address.
Jappie Mhango, the Chief Whip of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), stated that Kabwila cannot insult elected members of the house because she does not represent any constituency.
Kabwila was recently elected as the minister of high education in Chakwera’s cabinet reshuffle.
Jessie Kabwila responded to Navisha by saying she won’t apologize for speaking without using the Parliament gudget.
“If they have proof, let them bring it to Parliament as it is a place of record, but as it stands now, I am not apologizing,”said Kabwila.
In addition, he mentioned that the DPP and UDF are attempting to obstruct the violence they executed in Machinga, which is why they are presenting various narratives to confound the house.
