NCIC up with Infrastructure Analytics Dashboard for public projects monitoring

Ching'ani and Nkhonje addressing the news conference

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The National Construction Industry Council (NCIC) is expected to launch the much awaited Infrastructure Analytics Dashboard for public project monitoring.

The dashboard aimed at providing the public with accessible and comprehensive information about ongoing projects across the country.

The development comes in response to growing concerns from citizens about the lack of updates on project progress and the various challenges facing project implementation.

ICIC Chief Executive Director Engineer Gerald Khonje told news conference on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 that the dashboard will simplify access to disclosed infrastructure data, making it easier for stakeholders to make informed decisions.

The official launch of the dashboard is scheduled for Thursday, May 3, in Lilongwe, marking a significant step towards improving transparency and accountability within the infrastructure development sector.

“This is mirror for public projects in the country. The platform will provide full information on all public projects’ progresses; why some are stalled, failed, overspent. This will help authorities to track contractors of the projects for action when anomalies have been committed”, said Nkhonje.

Echoing the same, CoST Malawi Multi-Stakeholder Group Chairperson Joe Ching’ani lauded the introduction of the Infrastructure Analytics Dashboard saying, “Its crucial role in ensuring transparent and accountable delivery of infrastructure projects”.

Ching’ani said this initiative aims to maximize the value of public investment by promoting greater scrutiny and oversight of infrastructure development processes
