KARONGA-(MaraviPost)-The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Treasurer General Jappy Mhango has asked for unity among party followers if they are to rebuild and regain back power and rule the country in 2025.

Mhango said this Saturday during a political rally that the DPP conducted at Baka Primary School ground in Karonga District.

Addressing the media after the rally the treasurer general, said the party members must work together as a united front to ensure their return to govern Malawi once more.

“People have seen for themselves the suffering that they are going through with the Chakwera lead government hence on the grass root people are keen for the return of Peter Mutharika to lead this country come 2025 so as a party we need to unite and work together,” he said.

On his part, Shadrick Namalomba spokesperson for former president Peter Mutharika and also the DPP, urged the people of Karonga not to lose hope as DPP will end their suffering through the leadership of Mutharika as 2025 is just around the corner.

“It’s evidently clear the suffering that our people are experiencing from hunger to economic and social challenges but this will be a thing of the past once we regain power because the current regime has failed to live up to their hefty promises and expectations,” Namalomba said.

Christopher Mzomera Ngwira the party’s Regional Governor for the North, hailed the turnout of party supporters to the rally.

Adding that the huge turnout is a confidence boost to the party that they are still popular and loved by the people of Karonga.

Traditional dances and drama spiced up the rally and among notable members who attended the rally included Shadrick Namalomba and Smart Mwakayila DPP deputy regional Governor for the North.
