LAGOS-(MaraviPost)-Nigerian-American artist Davido has lost his three-year-old son Ifeanyi after he drowned in a swimming pool at his residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State.
The alleged horrific incident happened on Monday night, a few days after the famed star and his partner, Chioma, threw a lavish party for the infant on his third birthday (October 20).
The circumstances surrounding Ifeanyi’s death were still sketchy but It was gathered that the boy was found unresponsive in a swimming pool before the youthful parents quickly rushed him to the hospital, Punch reported.
Other reports suggest that the victim had been underwater for a very long time before being spotted and rushed to a hospital in the Lekki area of the state.
However, efforts to revive him were futile and doctors at Evercare Hospital in the state confirmed him dead.
The victim’s family is yet to confirm the news of the tragedy, however numerous Nigerian celebrities including the comedian, AY, Iyabo Ojo, Bimbo Thomas, Daddy Freeze, Susan Peters and a host of others have poured their messages of condolences to the families of the star.
Ifeanyi was born in 2019 to Davido and his partner Chioma Rowland. The two have been in an on-and-off relationship, with recent sightings indicating that they may tie the knot soon.
