Nyamilandu pledges transformation for Nsanje south west

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Former Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president Walter Nyamilandu who is vying for the Nsanje South West parliamentary seat,has promised to bring transformative change to the area if elected in the upcoming September 16 general elections.

Speaking at his first political rally at Khulubvi Primary School on Saturday, Nyamilandu highlighted his achievements in football and industry, including constructing Mpira Village and initiating the MK500 million Nsanje Youth Centre project.

Nyamilandu, who also worked at Illovo Sugar Malawi for 21 years, pledged to leverage his experience to address the constituency’s challenges, such as lack of electricity, water, healthcare, and infrastructure.

He promised to lobby companies and banks to open branches in Nsanje and provide starter packs for small-scale businesses, empower the youth and elderly on entrepreneurship, and create wealth opportunities.

Village head Tsamdoka of Traditional Authority (T/A/Malemia endorsed Nyamilandu’s candidacy, citing his roots in the area and commitment to its development.

The rally featured performances by local artists and traditional dances, showcasing the community’s enthusiasm for Nyamilandu’s bid.
