The National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) has urged youth-led organizations in the country to seize the opportunities presented by the government’s K2 billion Youth Innovation Fund.

Speaking during a visit to Springs of Hope Youth Organization in Balaka, where he witnessed firsthand the impact of vocational and agribusiness initiatives on local youth on Monday,NYCOM Executive Director Rex Chapota said the initiative has the potential to revolutionize the socio-economic landscape for Malawi’s youth, enabling them to become job creators and drive economic growth.

He emphasized the importance of youth economic empowerment in achieving the country’s vision for 2063, highlighting the need for young people to take an active role in shaping their own futures.

On his part,Springs of Hope Executive Director Kumbukani Mamba noted that financial constraints have limited the organization’s ability to invest in mechanization and innovation, underscoring the need for support and resources to unlock the full potential of youth-led initiatives.
