Open letter to Chakwera to end Malawi, Israel ties in solidarity with Gaza people

Malawi slammed for sending workers to Israel amid Gaza conflict

By Comrade Jumbe

This is my open letter to the president of the Republic of malawi Dr Lazarus Chakwera:, Urgent Appeal to end diplomatic ties of Malawi/Israel government in Solidarity with the People of Gaza,by Comrade jumbe

I write today on 13th April 2024.

Dear ,Mr. President,

I pen this letter with profound concern and disappointment regarding your government’s recent decision to vote against the United Nations ceasefire resolution in Gaza, aligning Malawi with Israel’s atrocities.

Your allegiance to the Israeli government, amidst their blatant violations of human rights and perpetration of genocide in Gaza, is deeply troubling. As a leader entrusted with upholding the values of justice and humanity, your support for a regime engaged in such egregious acts is unacceptable.

The Malawian people have not endorsed nor condoned your administration’s alignment with Israel. Your decision to establish diplomatic ties and trade relationships with a country notorious for its oppression of Palestinian people contradicts the aspirations and principles of our nation.

Instead of bolstering Israel’s economy through our labor and resources, we should focus on harnessing our own potential. Malawi possesses vast agricultural opportunities, abundant freshwater resources, and favorable climatic conditions. By investing in our own infrastructure and agricultural sector, we can uplift our youth, create employment opportunities, and become a beacon of prosperity in Africa.

I implore you, Mr. President, to immediately sever all ties with Israel and stand in solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine. Continuing to support a regime responsible for countless atrocities undermines the moral integrity of our nation.

Failure to act swiftly will compel Malawians to voice their dissent through peaceful demonstrations in solidarity with the people of Palestine. The world is watching, and history will judge our actions. Let us choose the side of justice, compassion, and humanity.

Yours sincerely,

Comrade jumbe,
