LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-In line with inclusive education, Malawi Paralympic Committee are up with Paralympic Sport against Stigma program which is targeting teachers.
The committee’s vice President Joseph Galanje revealed that will be conducting the trainings with Primary and Secondary school teachers across the country.
Galanje said this days after they conducted the first training with teachers from Dowa and Ntchisi, the training took place at Mponela Teachers Development Center with 20 participants.
As per Galanje, the trainings are aimed at reducing stigma amongst people with disabilities and those without disabilities by participating together in different sporting activities.
He added the teachers are being imparted with knowledge and skills on how to plan and implement the inclusive Sporting activities hence vowed to conduct the same in more districts accross the country as they can.
Malawi Paralympic Committee conducted the trainings at Mponela with funding from the Malawi National Council of Sports who provided 20 percentage through the District Sports Officer Loveness Phiri.
The other funds came from the International Paralympic Committee who are encouraging the I’mPOSSIBLE Trainings
