World Economic Forum Founder and Chairperson Klaus Schwab has described President Professor Peter Mutharika as a prominent leader that represents the aspirations of the African continent and his country Malawi.
Schwab made the remarks in an interview soon after meeting in audience with The Malawi President Peter Mutharika at the official opening of the World Economic Forum dubbed “Annual meeting of the new Champions 2015.”
The CEO also said Peter Mutharika’s decision to attend the Forum is a clear testimony of clear relations that exists between Malawi and China.
“It was very important to have one prominent African country represented at this forum so we feel greatly honoured and humbled that the Malawi President accepted our invitation, this is not only good for Malawi but China and the rest of African continent,” said Schwab.
President Peter Mutharika was one of the speakers in the televised session cast live on CNBC-Africa of South Africa on “emerging markets at cross-roads.”
