President Mutharika commends Muslim community’s support on development

Blantyre, July 14: President Professor Peter Mutharika has hailed the Muslim Community for complementing government’ effort towards the country’s development.

President Mutharika made the remarks Monday at Sanjika Palace, where he hosted officials from the Quadria Muslim Association of Malawi.

 

Mutharika noted that the Muslim fraternity was undertaking a number of developmental activities in areas like health and education that were assisting Government to transform the country.

“My Government appreciates the role the Quadria Muslim Association of Malawi plays in enhancing the country’s development and I strongly believe that the association will continue embracing the pillars of development that include hardworking, patriotism and integrity,” said President Mutharika.

General Secretary of the Quadria Muslim Association of Malawi, Karim Osman pledged the association’s commitment towards assisting Government in developing the country.

“We have aligned a number of developmental pillars in our strategies that include hardworking, patriotism and integrity and will continue implementing them for the benefit of Malawians and the nation at large,” said Osman.

Osman then commended President Mutharika’s government for taking an active role in initiating a rapid response to the January flood disaster.

Meanwhile, the Muslim Community has asked President Mutharika to attend Eid ul-Fitr celebrations expected to take place on July 17/18 in Machinga.

Established in 1992, the Quadria Muslim Association of Malawi undertakes a number of activities in areas of health and education, among others.
