MINNEAPOLIS-(MaraviPost)-President Donald Trump blamed the “Radical Left” for the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother of three, by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, claiming she was disorderly and resisted commands.
Trump watched video footage of the incident and asserted that Good attempted to run over the ICE officer, who acted in self-defense.
The shooting occurred on January 7, 2026, when Good was in her Honda Pilot on Portland Avenue, surrounded by federal agents conducting an immigration enforcement operation.
An ICE agent, identified as Jonathan Ross, fired three shots at Good, who was trying to drive away from the scene.
Witnesses described the shooting as unjustified, stating Good posed no threat to the agents and was simply trying to leave.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) claimed Good’s actions were an “act of domestic terrorism,” while local authorities disputed this account.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey condemned the shooting, calling ICE’s self-defense claim “bulls—” and demanding ICE leave the city.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz also criticized the federal government’s actions, urging protesters to remain peaceful.
The ICE agent involved, Jonathan Ross, has a history of serving in law enforcement and military roles, including deployment to Iraq with the Indiana National Guard.
Ross was seriously injured last year when dragged by a vehicle during another incident, which DHS cited as evidence of his bravery.
Vice President JD Vance defended Ross, blaming Good for her own death, calling it “a tragedy of her own making”.
The FBI is investigating the shooting, amid calls for accountability and transparency from local officials and community leaders.
Protesters have gathered in Minneapolis and other cities, demanding justice for Renee Good and reforms to immigration enforcement practices.
The incident has reignited debates about police use of force, immigration policies, and community safety.
