BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-In a show of unity and support, leaders of the Muslim community in Malawi came together to pledge their support to former Malawi leader Arthur Peter Mutharika (APM) and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) president, for the upcoming General Elections of 2025.
Led by Sheik Fahad Kamzuri, the leaders hailed the developments initiated by Former President Mutharika in the Mangochi region and expressed their desire for the DPP to return to power and continue the progress.
The audience, which included representatives from various Muslim associations such as the Muslim Association of Malawi, Muslim Organisation of Malawi, Ulama Council of Malawi, Quadiriya Muslim Association, Mangochi Muslim Jamati, and women leaders from Muslim Women Organisation of Malawi, Muslim Women Association of Malawi, and Muslim Sisters of Malawi, took the opportunity to express their admiration for the infrastructure projects undertaken by Former President Mutharika in Mangochi.
Projects such as the Peter Mutharika Highway, the Mangochi Stadium, and other development initiatives were all lauded by the Muslim leaders.
One of the key points of discussion during the meeting was the vision of turning Mangochi into a Tourist City.
The leaders expressed their support for this ambitious plan, which includes the development of resorts, an international airport, a university of tourism, mega fish farms, and the construction of major roads such as the Mangochi Makanjira road and Mangochi Chilipa road.
By throwing their weight behind Former President Mutharika and the DPP, the Muslim leaders signaled their belief in the potential for Mangochi to become a hub for tourism and economic growth in the region.
The women Muslim leaders also took the opportunity to commend the charitable works of the Former First Lady and extended their well wishes to the Former First couple for success, good health, and victory in the 2025 elections.
Their support and endorsement of Former President Mutharika and the DPP further solidified the united front presented by the Muslim community in Malawi.
The meeting with Former President Mutharika was a testament to the strong relationship between the Muslim community and the DPP leadership.
The leaders’ pledge of support and their vision for the future of Mangochi demonstrate a shared commitment to progress, development, and unity within Malawi.
As the 2025 elections draw near, it is clear that Former President Mutharika and the DPP have solid backing from the Muslim community, who are eager to see their vision for a prosperous and thriving Mangochi come to fruition.
With the support of these influential leaders, Former President Mutharika’s prospects for success in the upcoming elections are looking brighter than ever.
