MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-In order to boost support to the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and United Democratic Front (UDF) alliance in the coming 2020 presidential elections, some UDF youths under the banner of Friends of UDF have introduced a new system called “fresh elections, fresh minds” approach.
The new approach which is expected to wake up all UDF structures in the region was introduced in Mzuzu on Wednesday evening by the group.
The brand will be a tool of clearing the mind of the region toward the DPP/UDF alliance and let them know how important it is.
Alick Sayi who championed the formulation of the group said they don’t want to leave the ball in the hands of their leaders only.
Among the activities the group will be doing according to Sayi include; holding rallies on the ground and move in trading centers as well as door to door with DPP/UDF alliance messages.
“UDF was the only party that appointed someone from the north to be its running mate in the 2019 tripartite elections. This shows that our President loves the north. Therefore the region should expect best fruits from the UDF/DPP alliance. That will be our message to the region,” he said.
Sayi said the group will start meeting with the party leadership in the region so that they move shoulder to shoulder.
He then urge all UDF supporters and leaders to pull up their socks in order to let the alliance win.
Currently, Maravi Post understand that the party in the region has been silent on the alliance and yet to approach the its followers.
