BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The Presidential Debates Taskforce has begun consulting with political parties regarding their participation in the upcoming presidential debates, scheduled for August and September.
The debates aim to provide a platform for candidates to articulate their plans and policies on key issues affecting the country.
Ben Chakhame, Secretary General of the People’s Party (PP), has confirmed his party’s commitment to participating in the debates.
“The party sees this as an opportunity to share the agenda and ideas with the public ahead of the general elections on September 16,” Chakhame said.
Golden Matonga, Chairperson of the Presidential Debates Taskforce, has welcomed the commitment from participating parties, highlighting the debates’ potential role in the electoral process.
