Rotary Club of Lilongwe donates MK5m medical equipment to Kamuzu central

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-In its continual charity work, Rotary Club of Lilongwe on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 donated various medical equipment to Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) in the capital Lilongwe.

The donated items worthy MK5 million including two BiPAP machines,15 Purse Oximeters, 30 pieces of hospital medical safety Goggles and 3000 face masks.

Rotary Club of Lilongwe President William Matambo said the donation targeted referral hospital such as KCH.

Matambo hoped that the donated item will fill the gap the referral public facility to the public.

“Rotary Club of Lilongwe, thought of helping KCH as the need for breathing equipment for patients. With funds sourced from individual members and Rotary Club of York in UK has helped us to buy the donated equipment,” he added.

In her remarks KCH administrator Chiyanjano Kazombo lauded the club saying its timely.

Kazombo said donated items including BiPAP machines will ease breathing challenges among patients.

She added that the health facility still need much support for effective operation.

Kamuzu Central Hospital has the catchment area of over six million population.
