LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Some concerned Malawian citizens under the movement banner the Zatikwana Campaign have started an online protest demanding President Lazarus Chakwera to fire Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma for incompetency.
National Youth Chair for Zatikwana Campaign, Tawene Simbeye told Zodiak Online that the grouping believes that Ng’oma is behind the Department of Immigration’s failure to timely and efficiently deliver passports.
Simbeye further says the grouping is calling on swift appointment of Director General of Immigration Department to solve passport crisis.
But Minister of Information and Government Spokesperson Moses Kumkuyu says appointment of cabinet ministers is the presidential prerogative.
Kunkuyu added that concerns raised in the petition are being addressed as Malawians are able to access passports.
Zikhale has also been caught splashing cash to Malawi Congress Party (MCP) delegates to win the party’s First Veep post in the forthcoming elective convention.
MCP convention is slated for August 8, 2024 in the capital Lilongwe.
