LILONGWE (Maravipost):Salvation for All Ministries, under the leadership of Apostle Kawinga, has donated 75 iron sheets to Mwazinsi Community Secondary School (CDSS) in Rumphi District, in the area of Paramount Chikulamayembe.
The Ministry also provided 3000 beneficiaries with maize and other essential supplies, along with 200 blankets, bibles, and other essential supplies.
Making the donation, Apostle Clifford Kawinga said that the donation is one way of encouraging students at Mwazinsi CDSS, which had a 52 percent pass rate in Malawi School Certificate of Education last year with a lead of 15 points.
He mentioned that after discovering that the library had been destroyed by winds, they made the decision to donate iron sheets to keep their structures and books in order, ensuring that the students could continue their studies.
“It’s rare for the community to provide help to schools, but he advises everyone to participate in supporting them as it’s crucial as not having educated people has an impact on the economic, political, and technological sectors, among others, Kawinga lamented.
Kawinga noted that Mwazinsi is 30 kilometers from Rumphi District and appealed to the public to aid rural community secondary schools in achieving the goal of a better Malawi.
Following the receipt of the donation, Headmaster for Mwazinsi CDSS Lyton Kamanga mentioned that the donation will offer teachers a place to organize their lesson plans.
Kamanga said the library will ease the pressure on students who use the office as a library in the absence of a library structure.
“Students will be able to read easily and access books of their preference in preparation for exams, which will result in an increase in their passing percentage performance, “said Kamanga.
Justice Kachali, a student, stated that during discussions, they faced difficulty because they had previously used the headmaster’s office.
Kachali said that the absence of the library made it challenging for them to have enough access to teachers because they did not have a place to plan their lessons.
Senior Chief Chikulamayembe expressed his gratitude to the Ministry for the donation of iron sheets and food items, which he believes will assist the community in developing and having the strength to work towards its development.
According to him, the area was severely impacted by floods and dry spells last year, and people are truly experiencing hunger.
