LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Seedco has expressed satisfactory of the success of this year’s Malawi Open Golf Championship that Lilongwe Golf Club hosted from November 21 to 27, 2022.

At the end of the tournament, Zimbabwean golfer Visitor Maphwanya and Kazumu Academy student Kamoza Longwe emerged as overall winners in 2022 SeedCo Malawi Open Golf for professional and amateur categories respectively.

The winners went away hotel accommodations and chain stores vouchers, cash, motor vehicle engine oil, seeds packets and medals.

Seedco Malawi with other partners including Standard Bank, NBS bank, Toyota Malawi, Nissan, chain stores Chipiku, Sana and others hosted about 350 both local and international golfers for six days.

SeedCo Malawi Managing Director Boyd Luwe expressed satisfactory over the tournament success saying golfers must bigger prizes next year.

Luwe disclosed that the tournament has now been up-grated to Malawi Open Golf from being Lilongwe Golf for international accreditation and recognition.

He therefore appealed for more partnerships in hosting the tournaments.

Lilongwe Golf Club Vice Captain Maziko Kumbani echoed with sponsors other tourney’s success saying the sport is improving for better.

Kumbani also appealed for more sponsors for regular tournaments.

Seedco Malawi pumped in MK18 million for this year’s championship.
