LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The ambitious Silver Reserve team is making its intentions clear in the 2023 Central Region Chipiku Premier Division League, maintaining an impressive winning streak in the final round of the competition.
Silver Reserve secured victories in all three of their opening games in the league.
In week 1, they defeated LUANAR FC with a narrow score of 1-0, thanks to Ebenezer Mpangeni’s lone goal.
In week 2, they triumphed over Airborne Rangers with a score of 1-0, once again, thanks to Mpangeni’s striking prowess.
On the most recent Sunday, McDonald Yobe’s squad demonstrated their strength by outclassing Leyman Panthers FC, winning convincingly with a score of 2-0. This time, the goals came from Ebenezer Mpangeni and Lasuli Jali.
Silver Reserve now tops the league table, among the 12 competing teams, with an impressive 9 points from the 3 games they’ve played so far.
The team”s defense has been rock-solid, as they haven’t conceded a single goal yet, while their attackers have found the net 4 times.
Notably, Ebenezer Mpangeni is the current top goal scorer in the league, with 3 goals to his name.
St. Gabriel Zitha FC currently occupies the second position with 7 points, having won two games and drawn one.
The team’s results including victories over Kamuzu Barracks RSV FC (3-1) and Mangoni Warriors FC (1-1), as well as a draw against Villa FC (3-1).
In this final round of the Chipiku Premier Division League, the 12 teams face each other home and away in a round-robin format.
The team that accumulates the most points will earn promotion to the TNM Superleague and claim the champion’s prize of K16.5 million.

On Sunday, October 1st, 2023, Mangoni Warriors FC will face off against Kawinga FC at Dedza Stadium, Villa FC will host Ngolowindo FC at A.G. Dimba ground, and Support Battalion FC will take on LUANAR FC at Fikiza ground.
