LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Young Bankers on Sunday ambushed Kamuzu Barracks residence and whipped the Young Soldiers so brutally to claim the superiority in the Central Region Nyasa Capital Finance Regional Cup and made sure they get the group loan from the finance institution.
Silver Strikers Reserve started from where their brothers stopped on Saturday at Bingu National Stadium to punish Kamuzu Barracks RSV with a well planned ambush at their own residence. First half was exciting to watch from both sides though children from Chiwoko were seen to be flat.
At the end of the first half the Young Bankers led by two goals to one. Levison Gopani and Madalitso Maso scored at 29th and 33rd minute while Abdul Saidi scored from a rebound after Silver failed to clear the ball from their danger zone at 44th minute for KB.
Kondwani Kamwendo blew the whistle signaling the recess time was over and it was time to continue with the battle.In this half KB Reserve almost retreated and surrendered but because they come from Army families. They continued with the play but it was a sad experience as they conceded four goals in a space of seven minutes through Maso at 60th to seal his brace.
Tathedwa Willard at 62nd before an Own goal by KB defender at 64th and at 73rd minute through Tathedwa Willard who also completed his brace.
Young Soldiers second goal was scored through a spot kick by Peter Mpulula after Silver defender cleared the ball with a hand when KB took a corner kick.
Frank Chizuze was an architect of a good number of goals Silver Strikers Reserve scored and was a marvel to watch.The remaining time was dancing period for Silver who enjoyed the play and displayed beautiful passes and looked satisfied with the gallore of the goals they netted.
Later Kondwani Kamwendo, referee who had managed the final game in a professional manner without fear or favor blew the whistle to mark the end of the game and yes.
Silver reserve are confirmed the champions of CRFA Nyasa Capital Finance Regional Cup and went home with MK1.2 million as grand prize.
Kenwood Nkhoma, KB Reserve Coach, was a very disappointed man, saying he did not expect such demolition from Silver being the final game.
He acknowledged his boys did not play according to plan and added that the goalkeeper also let them down.
His counterpart, Leo Ferguson Mpulula, was delighted for the victory and winning his first Silverware after long time.
He then hailed his boys for displaying beautiful football and winning the Cup.
