Silver Strikers have won the battle to sign Bullets forward Tizgowere Kumwenda and Victor Limbani after meeting the terms required by their club Blantyre United.
Bullets used the players for the last time over the weekend when they played Moyale Barracks on Saturday in the GOtv Challenge Cup in Mzuzu and a friendly game against Blue Eagles on Sunday in Lilongwe.
The two players have been subjects of speculation after the expiry of a season long loan at Bullets which prompted Blantyre United Technical Director issuing threats to take legal action should Bullets continue to use the two players.
Limbani scored in Bullets 3-1 loss to Moyale on Saturday.
Bullets Acting chairman Sadick Malinga said the team had hoped to keep both players but the situation was beyond their control.
“I was hoping that we will keep these two players because we were discussing but it seems the players also wanted to move,” Malinga said.
He said the development would not affect their bid to defend the title this year.
“Of course we have problems in terms of money but we are trying to find ways and means of solving them so that we can start afresh,” he said.
He said the team has managed to sign most key players putting to rest speculation that pleyers threatened not to sign for debt-ridden Bullets.
Meanwhile Bullets are likely to face their former players soon as they date Silver Strikers in the opening of the new Super League season at Civo Stadium.
Although the game will be played in Lilongwe it will be Bullets’ home game.
