Soche CCAP to celebrate 30-year US partnership as Veep Ansah attends

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Blantyre is set to host a landmark church event this month when Soche CCAP Church marks three decades of collaboration with Shadyside Presbyterian Church.

The anniversary service will take place on Sunday, 24 May 2026, at Soche CCAP Church, running from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Clergy, congregants, government officials, and members of the public are expected to gather for the occasion.

Vice President Dr. Jane Ansah will attend as Guest of Honour.

According to the organising team, her presence acknowledges the congregation’s contribution to spiritual outreach, social support, and international Christian fellowship since the partnership began in 1996.

The Soche Congregation under the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian, Blantyre Synod, is hosting the celebration.

Organisers say the day will serve as both a thanksgiving for the years passed and an opportunity to reflect on how the partnership has advanced Christian values and community development.

Through joint mission initiatives and mutual assistance, the link between the two churches has also strengthened ties between Malawi and the United States over the past 30 years.

This year’s theme, “One Faith, One Family, One Mission with Shadyside Presbyterian Church,” comes from Ephesians 4:1-4. Church leaders note that it highlights unity among believers and a shared commitment to serve through the gospel.

The programme will include prayers, worship, testimonies, and reflections on the history of the partnership.

Members of the congregation and invited guests have been urged to attend in large numbers, as the milestone is regarded as significant for the Blantyre Synod.

Contact information for the organising team is provided on the official anniversary poster.

With its focus on cross-border unity and service, the gathering is expected to be one of the major church events in Blantyre this year.
