Blantyre, September 27, 2014: A sigh of relief to Malawian soccer lovers, who will not have an opportunity to travel to Blantyre on October 10, to watch the Flames playing against The Fennecs in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers encounter at Kamuzu Stadium following the acquisition of rights to beam the match by a French television station, Sport Five.

FAM marketing officer, Dan Tambala told members of the press on Wednesday at their offices in Chiwembe that the match will be produced by Sport Five and beamed live on international television.

 

Tambala said FAM will distribute the professionally produced TV signal to all willing local broadcasters but at a certain fee.

Tambala also took some time to explain on how this game will be marketed. For instance, he said this being a CAF match, they have engaged a marketing agency based in Algeria which shall enable that all companies across the world are given the chance to gain visibility during the match.

“All Malawian companies that require perimeter boards during the match are advised to contact our marketing department so that they may be referred to appropriate personnel who will assist them gain rights,” he said.

Meanwhile, 21,380 tickets have been printed to meet the expected high demand from football fans to watch this crunch encounter.

Tambala said, the tickets, which were printed in South Africa, have been printed with high quality security features such as a hologram making them unique, and full proof.

The tickets will be presold in order to allow football fans have a very easy entry into the stadium on the day of the match and they will be sold in areas around Blantyre City, Zomba City and Lilongwe from Monday 29th September 2014 at 12:00 noon.

For instance, 19,000 tickets which have been printed for open stand will be sold at K1, 000 each, while 1,500 tickets from the covered stand will be sold at K5000 each.

People who will wish to watch the match on the MBC stand should also rush to buy their tickets since only 750 tickets have been printed and they will be sold at K2, 500 each.

On the VIP stand, FAM has printed 130 tickets which will be sold at K10, 000 each.
