LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Central Region Football Association (CRFA) says the maiden season of the MK15 million Standard Bank UNAYO Division One League will be launched on May 7,2022 in Ntcheu District.
Bernard Harawa, Central Region Football Association General Secretary (CRFA) disclosed the development to division one teams’ representatives in the capital Lilongwe on Tuesday, April 26,2022.
The meeting aimed at highlighting to the teams on how the league is expected to be run,the prizes and of course encouraging discipline amongst the teams who will participate to safeguard the Sponsorship.
“We are very happy with the Sponsorship from Standard Bank under their new platform UNAYO. It will help the development of the sport in the region.
“Teams have expressed their concerns and as an Association we are ready to handle those so that the league is smoothly run”, Harawa explained.

Tryson Mbukwa, Ocasor FC General Secretary expressed gratitude over kick of the league saying his team is ready to compete and win the maiden UNAYO league.
About 24 teams are expected to participate which will be grouped in three zones of 8 teams.
The top four teams will make it into the second round in which they will play home and away to find 6 teams who will make it in the final round.
The winner will get MK2 million, runners up MK1.5 million, third placed will take home MK1 million with the fourth placed getting MK750,000.
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) on April 7,2022 announced Standard Bank of Malawi as the Sponsors of the regional division one leagues under their new platform UNAYO.
The bank also pumped in MK46 million for the three regions,SRFA,CRFA and NRFA and each association is expected to get MK15,375,000 per year.
Over 64 teams across the country are expected to participate and 700 matches are estimated to be played.
The leagues have been given eight months time frame for them to get completed.
