Students shine in Bible trivia competition, emphasizing faith and academics in Blantyre

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-A total of 161 students from across Malawi converged in Blantyre for the Combining Spiritual and Academic Excellence (CSAE) Bible trivia competition, organized by Raised for a Purpose (RFP) Ministries.

The event aimed to promote a well-rounded approach to learning and personal development by integrating faith and academics.

The competition was divided into two categories: junior (7-11 years) and senior (12-19 years).

Students showcased their knowledge in Bible studies, science, and history, demonstrating that faith and academics are not mutually exclusive.

RFP Ministries founder and president Pastor Aubrey Mwasinga emphasized that the competition’s objective was to instill a passion for scriptures in students’ minds and encourage them to integrate faith with their academic pursuits.

“The aim was to foster a Bible reading culture among young people and to help them embrace the role of God in their academic lives,” Mwasinga said, adding, that”You can see that the event did not focus solely on Bible questions—there were also science and history elements. I personally believe that academics and God go together, and Christians do not need to fail in their academics.”

In the senior category, Likangala Secondary School student Bob Ziligone emerged victorious, winning a laptop and K100,000.

Ziligone expressed gratitude to God for guiding him to victory, saying, “I should first of all thank God that He came through. I really wanted this and I believed I could. I look forward to next year for another competition like this.”

The competition’s winners received impressive prizes, including laptops, tablets, education packages, and cash awards.

In the senior category, the first-place winner received a laptop and K100,000, while the runner-up won a tablet and K100,000. The third-place winner received an education package and K50,000.

In the junior category, the winners received education packages, children’s Bibles, and stationery gift vouchers.

The event highlighted the importance of integrating faith and academics in personal development.

By combining spiritual growth with academic excellence, students can develop a holistic approach to learning and achieve their full potential.

RFP Ministries’ initiative to promote Bible reading culture among young people is commendable, and the competition serves as a platform for students to showcase their knowledge and skills.

The CSAE Bible trivia competition is a testament to the power of faith and academics working together. As Pastor Mwasinga emphasized, “Academics and God go together, and Christians do not need to fail in their academics.”

The competition’s success is a reminder that with hard work, determination, and faith, students can achieve great things.
