DPP elective convention: Why the need for young blood of Alfred Gangata beyond 2025?

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Opposition parties are always governments in waiting that their operations with objective eyes on governing parties, win citizenry trusts.

This is the reason opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) needs to put its house in order ahead of 2025 Malawi presidential polls.

DPP still commands in all four political regions: South, Eastern, Centre and North despite losing 2020 Presidential elections.

However, due leadership struggle, the party lost some trusted followers not because they wanted but desperation for better leadership that put Malawi first, hence the loss to 2020 Presidential polls.

Malawians have always given DPP many chances based on development mind the late Bingu instilled in the nation.

However, the chances are kept on played due old guards that toss the party’s agenda hence the need for young blood with fresh minds to revive DPP’s lost glory touch with populace.

Life is a summation of choices, evidently Malawi is at its economic death bed due to a poor choice by the constituents in the past high office election.

As opposition DPP goes to convention in July this year, delegates must embrace youth leadership with fresh minds for Malawi beyond 2025.

Considering the high cost of living, rampant corruption and lack of policy direction, Malawi’s hope is in the hands of DPP delegates during July elective convention.

DPP delegated must understand a bigger responsibility ahead of them to elect candidates who commands real and practical change, and has the capacity to govern and ensure the country’s socio and economic growth.

A greatest determinant in every election are the youths who constitutes to 75% of the general population, hence the need to feature an energetic and youthful including Alfred Gangata.

DPP needs young blood to reclaim its past glory of real and serous development agenda it initiated with late Bingu wa Mutharika.

For the party to win back public trust, young people with no political connection or family lineage to party leadership must be put on driving seat ahead of 2025 Malawi general polls.

Therefore as Gangata has shown interests according to social media reports, let DPP embrace the new blood for better.

Why Alfred Gangata?

Ganga is a successful business person who mastered the art of creating wealth and has a proven record that he puts youth empowerment at core of his vision and operations and there are so many testimonies to justify this.

Alfred Gangata is one of the leaders who sweat in business, in order to be economically prosperous and develop other people.

Malawians want such leaders because Alfred Gangata knows that the country of Malawi needs resources for the development of the country to run smoothly.

According to social media reports, Gangata has gone flat out convincing Malawians to win trust on development agenda.

Gangata is reminding Malawians of what DPP has been doing to the nation hence needs to be given a chance again to reclaim the country’s development path that has been lost for the last three years.

With zeal in business, Gangata will likely to help overcoming youth unemployment for serious entrepreneurship ventures amid object poverty among young people in the country.

As the opposition DPP goes elective convention in July this year, delegates must embrace youth leadership with fresh minds for Malawi beyond 2025.

Dr Cassim Chilumpha attacks DPP, MCP for regionalism

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The interim leader of newly-formed political party, Assembly for Democracy and Development (ADD), Dr Cassim Chilumpha, over the weekend accused ruling party, Democratic Progress Party (DPP) of poor governance, which he says fuels corruption, poverty, regionalism, and unemployment in Malawi.

Chilumpha attacked the incumbent leadership for its lenience in combating corruption, heeding the Baker Tilly famous cashgate report, continued racism and nepotism.

Chilumpha also asked Malawians not to vote even for main the opposition, Malawi congress Party (MCP) into democratic Malawi due to its common traits to DPP.

“I don’t see any difference between the incumbent DPP and MCP as both have regionalistic mindsets whereas MCP is party for Lilongwe, Dedza and Kasungu,” Chilumpha said.

Chilumpha also warned Malawians that the spirit of voting for people from diaspora, should stop; he cited that these derail citizens development expectations, and plans.

Meanwhile, ADD has drafted ten plans, which will be executed;, these are problems such as corruption, unemployment, poverty and regionalism will be over in the country.

Below are details of the ten points plan:

1. Youth and women who comprises 70% of the population now to be given 80% leadership share and job positions and empower them in various aspects

2. The elderly above 70 years, the disabled and the vulnerable to be on payroll

3. University education to be free

4. All corrupt suspects to be tried before competent courts and face justice without favour

5. Agriculture development policies to be reviewed and adopt diversified and sustainable mechanised, irrigated and value adding chain in all produce export commodities.

6. Urban structure plans and all development plans to be reviewed and get priority development vote

7. Informal sector to be structured and empowered

8. Government to open up new companies and create job opportunities

9. Decentralisation to be reviewed and accorded with more powers for districts self governing of development programs

10. Leading government positions to be allocated equally in all administrative regions and development to be implemented without political bias, regionalism or race.

Chilumpha launched the ADD party on January 8, 2018.
