Mwanza (Maravi Post)–Malawi Police in the boarder and Southern district of Mwanza are keeping in custody a 25 year-old man for tampering with his wife’s private parts following wife’s refusal to cook for him.
Mwanza Police Public Relations Officer, Edwin Kaunda confirmed to Maravi Post the arrest of Alick Mgundo who committed the office at Kapise village in the district.
According to Police Publicist, on morning of May 22, the suspect left his house for bear drinking at the nearby village without leaving money for family upkeep. But upon return home in the afternoon while drunk and carried five eggs, and he asked the wife, Stella Limited to prepare him lunch.
“The wife got angry because of the husband’s failure to leave cash for buying relish and he eventually refused to cook for the husband and left the house for her parent’s home. Since the suspect was completely drank, he went a sleep till the following morning.”
“After waking up, Mgundo questioned the wife as to why she refused to cook for him but Stella failed to give proper reasons which ended up into the two fighting. In the middle of fighting, Alick took a sharp object then hit the wife on her vagina who eventually collapsed due to loss of blood as she sustained deep cuts on the private parts.
Thereafter, members of the community at Kapise took the victim to Mwanza District Hospital for treatment while Alick was immediately arrested and handed over to Mwanza Police,” narrated Kaunda.
Alick Mgundo who hails from Mpandasoni village, in the Traditional Authority (T.A) Ntchache in the same district remains in the police custody while waiting to appear before court soon to answer the charge of unlawful wounding.
