Lori Loughlin Makes Rare Public Appearance Amid Mossimo Giannulli Split

Lori Loughlin made a rare public appearance to promote her return to When Calls the Heart.

The show’s Instagram page shared a clip of Loughlin, 61, speaking during the When Calls the Heart panel at the Hallmark Christmas Experience on Friday, December 12. Hallmark confirmed on December 2 that Loughlin will reprise her role as Abigail Stanton on When Calls the Heart seven years after exiting the show.

“It feels amazing [to return] and my girl [Erin Krakow] here has been championing this for a long time,” she told fans. “When did I find out, maybe like a month ago, two months ago, and I just want to thank everyone at Hallmark for being so loving and so welcoming … and this just feels incredible.”

People quoted Loughlin as saying that she was thrilled to be reuniting with When Calls the Heart’s “special cast.”

“[We have] such a special bond and it’s just so nice to be back with my family,” she added.

When Calls the Heart fans were undoubtedly thrilled when Hallmark recently confirmed that Loughlin is returning for six of season 14’s 12 episodes. (The new season of When Calls the Heart will be filmed next year and will air in 2027.)

“Since the series’ debut in 2014, the character of Abigail Stanton was a fan favorite and beloved by the Hearties,” Michelle Vicary, Hallmark Media’s head of programming, said in a statement on December 2. “At its core the Hallmark brand is about hope, positivity and connection, which is also the central theme of When Calls the Heart. We felt that season 14 was the right time to continue Abigail’s story with her return to this beloved series.”

Loughlin’s TV comeback comes amid upheaval in her personal life. A spokesperson for the former Full House star confirmed to Us Weekly on October 2 that Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, had separated after nearly 28 years of marriage. (Loughlin and Giannulli, 62, share two daughters: Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose.)

“They are living apart now,” Loughlin’s rep told Us at the time. “There are no legal proceedings underway.”

Us subsequently learned that the former couple decided to separate after realizing they were “not on the same page.”

“People around Lori and Mossimo have known they have been going through a really hard time in the last year,” a source told Us in October. “This isn’t a shock to people around them. It has been a rough time for Lori. She is devastated.”

The insider added, “They will not reconcile — there is currently no chance — and will ultimately divorce.”

John Stamos Answers Whether He Would Ever Leave His Wife for Lori Loughlin

Later that month, Loughlin and Giannulli sold their home for nearly $15 million, which was below their initial asking price of $16.5 million. The 11,800-square-foot Hidden Hills mansion was designed with a modern farmhouse aesthetic, and features six bedrooms, a gym, a wine cellar and a home theater.

Elsewhere, John Stamos spoke out to defend his former Full House costar in the wake of her split. During an appearance on the “Good Guys” podcast, Stamos, 62, slammed Giannulli as a “a terrible narcissist” and insisted Loughlin had “put up with a lot over the years [with] this guy.”

“40 years I’ve known her,” Stamos said in the October podcast episode. “You can see through people after a few years. This woman’s a saint. I’m just heartbroken for her right now.”

CBS Reopens ‘Matlock’ Investigation After David Del Rio Was Fired: Report

CBS has reopened its investigation into sexual assault allegations against Matlock actor David Del Rio, according to a TMZ report.

Del Rio, 38, was fired from the CBS legal drama in October after an investigation into sexual assault claims made by his costar Leah Lewis.

According to TMZ, an investigation into the allegations was reopened just before Thanksgiving. Del Rio has been interviewed again, alongside his attorney, Shawn Holley, said the outlet.

Us Weekly has reached out to Del Rio’s attorney for comment. CBS declined to comment, saying it does not discuss legal matters.

Where Was David Del Rio’s ‘Matlock’ Story Line Going Before Firing?

Del Rio abruptly exited the second season of Matlock after a September 26 on-set incident with Lewis, 20, Deadline reported on October 9.

Us confirmed in October that CBS was alerted to the incident and immediately began an internal investigation into the allegations.

Deadline reported that Del Rio was “fired and escorted” off the Paramount lot “the same day the alleged assault was reported” on October 2.

After the news broke a week later, Lewis shared a photo of her and her mother on the Matlock set and wrote, “Mom is here, we’re moving forward in love and strength. I’m in good hands.”

“Thank you to everybody for any kind of support and care. Truly, we’re moving forward in strength. Key word, strength. Please, let that be the takeaway,” she continued.

Del Rio has yet to publicly comment on his firing or the allegations. In November, Us confirmed that he had retained Hollywood attorney Holley, who has previously represented the likes of Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan and Justin Bieber in high-profile cases.

In October, Del Rio’s wife, Katherine, came to her husband’s defense after the news broke. Katherine shared a photo of Lewis via her Instagram Story and wrote, “This is the most disturbing human being I have ever met.” Katherine later deleted the post.

“His wife is standing by him,” friends of Del Rio and his wife exclusively shared with Us in October. “They’re a family and staying together.”

The couple share two daughters, Lilia, 2, and Coco, 11 months.

Del Rio’s character, Billy Martinez, is expected to be written out of Matlock, which recently began production on the second half of season 2.

In a joint interview with Lewis in May, Del Rio teased his story line in season 2, after his character discovered he was going to become a dad at the end of season 1.

“I’m really excited to see how Billy handles the work balance with the personal balance of it all,” he shared at the time.

“I remember reading the finale and hoping at the end that Sarah was going to get away scot-free with this wonderful victory,” Lewis said of where her character, Sarah Franklin, ended up at the end of season 1.

“Of course, the thing happens with Simone and she might need to take accountability,” Lewis said. “To be honest, this is where we really get to see if Sarah can step up to the plate for the thing that she has been begging for, asking for and working so hard for. You want to get treated like a big dog. We’ll start acting like a big dog. I feel like this season we’ll definitely probably get to see her mature a bit more on that aspect. Her professional win is not over yet.”

Diddy’s Rep Slams Report That Rapper Was Caught Drinking Alcohol in Prison

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ rep denied a report that the disgraced music mogul was caught drinking homemade alcohol in prison.

TMZ reported on Friday, November 7, that Diddy — who is incarcerated at Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix in New Jersey — was caught drinking a concoction of Fanta, sugar and apples left to ferment for two weeks.

However, Diddy’s official X account denied the claims in a since-deleted post on Saturday, November 8. “The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false. His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family,” the post read.

A spokesperson for Diddy added to People, “There have been several false and reckless reports circulating about Mr. Combs. He has not violated any prison rules. His sobriety and self-discipline are priorities, and he is taking them seriously.”

“This is only his first week at FCI Fort Dix, and unfortunately, rumors will surface throughout his time there. We ask the public and the press to give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth, and the grace to move forward in peace,” the statement continued.

Us Weekly has reached out to Diddy’s representatives for further comment.

A spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed to Us on October 30 that Diddy, 55, had been transferred to FCI Fort Dix to complete the remainder of his four-year prison sentence on two charges of transportation to engagement in prostitution. FCI Fort Dix is a low-security prison for men and houses around 4,000 prisoners.

Diddy is scheduled to be released on May 8, 2028, per the Bureau of Prisons website. He could get out earlier with good behavior or after completing certain programs during his incarceration.

The Bad Boy Records founder was previously incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he was remanded following his initial arrest on charges including sex trafficking in September 2024. He remained there through his trial, which began in May and concluded with a guilty verdict on the prostitution-related charges on July 2. (Diddy was cleared of two counts of trafficking and one count of racketeering conspiracy.) The music star has maintained his innocence and denied all charges against him.

Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in prison during a sentencing hearing on October 3, which is just over four years. The year he has spent behind bars already will count towards his sentence. Judge Arun Subramanian also ordered him to pay a $500,000 fine and complete five years of supervised release when he leaves prison.

During his sentencing, Subramanian encouraged Diddy to “make the most” of his “second chance.” The judge said, “There’s a true path to redemption here. What went wrong and what can be made right.”

In a letter to the judge prior to his sentencing, Diddy expressed remorse for his actions.

He continued, “I take full responsibility and accountability for my past wrongs. This has been the hardest two years of my life, and I have no one to blame for my current reality and situation but myself,” he wrote in a letter obtained by Us on October 2. “In my life, I have made many mistakes, but I am no longer running from them. I am so sorry for the hurt that I caused, but I understand that the mere words ‘I’m sorry’ will never be good enough, as these words alone cannot erase the pain from the past.”

#Malawi’s COVID-19 Update, October 2, 2021: 12 new cases, one death

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-In the past 24 hours, Malawi has registered 12 new COVID-19 cases, 238 new recoveries and one new death. All new cases are locally transmitted: four each from Lilongwe and Blantyre, three from Mzimba North, and one each from Kasungu, Mulanje, Neno, Nkhata Bay, Ntcheu, and Phalombe Districts.

One new death was registered in the past 24 hours and is from Lilongwe. The new death was not vaccinated. To the families that have lost their loved ones during this pandemic, may you find peace, hope and love during this difficult time. May the souls of the departed rest in peace.

Cumulatively, Malawi has recorded 61,609 cases including 2,283 deaths (Case Fatality Rate is at 3.71%). Of these cases, 2,648 are imported infections and 58,961 are locally transmitted.

Cumulatively, 55,691 cases have now recovered (recovery rate of 90.4%) and 232 were lost to follow-up. This brings the total number of active cases to 3,403.

In the past 24 hours, there were two new admissions (all new admissions are not vaccinated) in the treatment units while three cases were discharged.

Currently, a total of 26 active cases are currently hospitalised (one case is in critical condition and is not vaccinated): nine in Lilongwe, eight in Blantyre, two each in Mzimba North and Zomba, and one each in Mchinji, Karonga, Balaka, Chiradzulu, and Mwanza Districts.

On testing, in the past 24 hours, 458 COVID-19 tests were conducted. Of these, 189 tests were through SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Diagnostic test while the rest were through RT-PCR.

The positive cases out of the total number tested (past 24 hours) translates to a positivity rate of 2.6% a weekly positivity rate (seven days moving average) is at 2.5%.

Cumulatively, 410,562 tests have been conducted in the country so far. On COVID-19 vaccination, a total of 1,066,218 vaccine doses has been administered in the country so far.

Cumulatively 566,828 and 255,118 people have received the first dose and second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine respectively while 244,272 people have received Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

Over the past 24 hours, 2,600 and 407 people have received first dose and second of AstraZeneca vaccine respectively while 282 people have received Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Cumulatively, 499,370 people are
fully vaccinated.

The COVID-19 vaccination exercise is progressing well as more people are getting the vaccine on a daily basis. This is good and it will help in the COVID-19 fight.

The public should be informed that we have adequate stocks of COVID-19 vaccines in all the vaccination sites. Let
me encourage those that are aged 18 years and above to utilize this opportunity and ensure that they have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

For the vaccine to work as expected it is important that we receive the vaccines as recommended i.e. for AstraZeneca vaccine, for full protection, a person is expected to receive two doses given at 12 weeks’ interval while for Johnson and Johnson (Janssen) vaccine, a single dose will ensure full protection.

My special appeal goes to those that had received the first dose of AstraZeneca and 12 weeks have elapsed,
that they should get their second dose of the AstraZeneca at the nearest vaccination site.

This will ensure that they are fully protected against COVID-19 thereby reducing the risk of developing severe disease, hospitalization and deaths when they contract COVID-19.

As we are bringing the vaccines closer to the people, I would like to commend some local leaders that are encouraging their subjects to get vaccinated.

These local leaders are organizing the people right in their communities and thereafter invite the health personnel to come and vaccinate the people. This is the type of leadership that we expect from the traditional leaders.

Let me appeal to other traditional and faith leaders to emulate this good example and ensure that the people they serve are protected from developing severe COVID-19 disease as well as reducing the risk of hospitalization and deaths due to COVID-19.

The leaders will only be leaders when their subjects are well and healthy. Apart from encouraging the people to get
vaccinated, the traditional and faith leaders should also take an active role in ensuring that the COVID-19 preventive and containment measures are strictly adhered to in their respective communities.

This will help in reducing the spread of COVID-19 in our communities. Together we can have a COVID-19 free Malawi and it begins with us.
