LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Old Mutual donates MK3,750,000 to parliament of Malawi for the purchasing of 250 golf shirts to be used at SADC parliamentary forum plenary assembly which will be held in Lilongwe from July 7 to 16, 2022.

The meeting which is expected to be launched by SADC Chairperson, Lazarus Chakwera on July 11 will be themed at “Towards energy efficiency sustainability and self sufficiency in SADC regions”.
In his remarks Old Mutual Managing Director, Roy Punungwe said the 51st conference will enable the country to be on the map which prompt old Mutual to help when they knock on their door for help.
Punungwe said parliament remains a key stakeholder to the insurance company as most of the customers are families and employees of the house.
He commended government for working so hard in ensuring that the country successfully leads the Region block since assuming SADC chairmanship in august 2021.
Receiving the donation, Clerk of Parliament, Fiona Kalemba lauded the firm for timely support that the the upcoming 51st Plenary of the SADC Parliamentary Forum will be a success.
Kalemba observes that company’s support towards the hosting of the very important conference symbolizes the mutual relationship that exists between Parliament and the Private Sector in Malawi.
The 51st conference marks the 3rd SADC conference for parliament to host in the country as in October, 2007, Parliament of Malawi hosted the 23rd Plenary Assembly in Blantyre whilst the 32nd SADC-PF Plenary Assembly was held in Mangochi in 2021.
