DAR ES SALAAM-(MaraviPost)-Tanzania government has ordered the closure of all universities and colleges across the country with immediate effect after an American Citizen (61) in Dar es Salaam and a German national (24) in Zanzibar had been diagnosed with the virus.
Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa made the announcement on Wednesday morning on mother broadcaster in the country.
This has been announce a day after government ordered the closure of all nursery, primary and secondary schools following an outbreak of COVID-19 following a confirmed case of coronavirus by Tanzanian health authorities.
The patient who was identified as 46-year-old-woman arrived from Belgium after she had visited Sweden and Denmark and arrived in the country by RwandAir on Sunday.
All people who were close to her and who served her on arrival were quarantined and their samples were taken for tests.
All schools will remain closed for 30 days and students have been sent back home today upon arrival at school from their homes.
Meanwhile, officials have said updates regarding the disease will be provided to the general public and government is doing everything possible to contain the spreading of Coronavirus in the country.
