BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-President-elect Peter Mutharika addressed the public today in Blantyre, thanking Malawians for voting him into office.
He also expressed gratitude to the Alliance for Democracy (AFORD), National Democratic Party (NDP), and the National Liberation Party (NLP)for their support.
In his address, Mutharika emphasized the need for unity, stating that “the time for competition has ended and the time for construction has begun.”
He called on all Malawians, regardless of their political affiliation, to join hands in developing the country.
A key highlight of Mutharika’s speech was his emphasis on rebuilding trust in public institutions.
“We must rebuild trust in public institutions,” he stressed.
He also announced that his administration would focus on inclusion and other pressing issues in the coming days.
Mutharika condemned dubious and illegal business practices, urging those responsible to cease such activities immediately.
“Let us begin with hope,” he said, calling on Malawians to work together to build a better future for the country.
The President-elect’s message of unity and hope has been well-received by many Malawians, who are eager to see development and progress in their country.
As Mutharika prepares to take office, his administration’s priorities will be closely watched by the nation.
