The TNM Super League sponsorship increase from K65 million to K90 by sponsors TNM, will bring a competitive edge to the league as the season is set to start this weekend.
TNM Chief Commercial Manager Daniel Makata announced on Tuesday during the press conference.
Makata said TNM was happy to be associated with the country’s flagship league.
“We have decided to increase the sponsorship from K65 million to K90 bearing in mind the rising cost of living which has not spared football teams,” Makata said.
“Our commitment towards football is unwavering as evidenced by the fact that we continue to invest significantly in the league.”
He said the increase would also induce a competition spirit in the league.
“On the other hand we expect that that the competition would be stiff as teams will be fighting to win the coveted the prize.”
He also disclosed that the Sapeto Mapeto Promotion would roll out as the season kicks off to give teams a chance to earn more.

Champions prize money has gone up to K15 million from K9 million runners-up K7 million from K4.5 million, third placed team K3.5 million from K2 million.
Fairplay team will get k800,000 from K600,000 representing 33 percent and most improved team will get K800,000 from K600,000 representing also 33 percent increase.
The K1 million subvention to each of the 15 teams has also been raised but the exact figure will be communicated to in due course.
