Dedza-(MaraviPost). Tragedy has engulfed catholic church youth community following the death of the two students after they hanged themselves for unknown reasons.
Dedza Police Station Public Relations Officer Edward Kabango on Wednesday, April 27 confirmed to The Maravi Post the demise of the two namely Holasio Petulo Augusto and Aulerio Malamusi who hanged themselves on April 26.
According to Police Publicist Kabango Augusto was admitted at Mtendere Mission clinic for Malaria but upon discharged from the hospital on April 26, later in the evening he hanged himself in the toilet as was found dead in the morning.
On the other hand, Malamusi who was a second year student at Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) came home to correct tuition fees from his parent whose father was a teacher at Mtendere Secondary School.
Kabango said after the late Aulerio arrived home on April 25, 2016 he went straight to a drinking spree and returned home night completely drunk eventually started stoning parents home whom the following morning was found dead while hanged in the kitchen.
“It’s indeed two students belonging to catholic faith have simultaneously hanged themselves for unknown reasons. The medical reports have shown that the two have died of suffocation due to strangulation following their hanging”, says Kabango.
Malamus who until his death was 25 year old hailed from Chiphwanya, Traditional Authority (TA) Tambala in the central district of Dedza while Augusto 20 years and student at Mtendere Secondary School came from Mozambique.
