TEXAS-(MaraviPost)-Nigerian man in United States of America shot his wife and grandmother before turning the gun on himself in Texas.
This was confirmed in a statement issued by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
“On June 1, 2022 at about 7:30 PM the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call reporting a shooting in the 30120 block of Aldine Westfield Road, Spring Texas.
“Upon arrival, Deputies discovered two victims who both appear to have been shot in the head. One victim (Tangela Igbokwe) was taken to a local emergency room where she is listed in critical condition, the second victim (Linda Larkins) succumbed to her injuries at the scene,” reads part of the statement
The shooting happened after an argument between Obinna Igbokwe, 41, and his wife, Tangela Igbokwe, over custody of their 3-month-old son before he fled the scene with the infant.
Times reported that Igbokwe dropped off the child in a car seat at a local hotel after the shootings with a promise that he would be right back, but never returned before police found the child.
When the police were alerted of the presence of Igbokwe in the area, he reportedly stopped in a parking lot after a short pursuit with officers before shooting himself. He was rushed to Dallas Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.
The child was returned to his family and police have expressed their condolences to the affected family.
They have also vowed to provide support and assistance to the victims.
