
TEXAS-(MaraviPost)-Migos rapper Takeoff was reportedly shot and killed at Billiards and Bowling during a dice game in Houston, Texas.
The Huston police department confirmed the news of the tragedy in a statement on its official twitter page.
“Downtown officers are on a shooting at 1200 Polk. One victim was found deceased upon arrival,” reads the statement.
Takeoff, real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, had joined his uncle and fellow Migos rapper Quavo for a game of dice before the shooting.
Reports indicate that the victim and Quavo were playing dice when an altercation broke out before someone opened fire at the duo shortly after 2:30 AM.
Law enforcement were called to the scene which had about 40 to 50 people at the bowling alley immediately after the tragedy but the rapper was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police sources indicated that 2 other people were shot at the scene and were taken to the hospital. It’s unclear what their conditions are however, Quavo was not injured, TMZ reported.
The 28 year old rapper was a key part of Migos, forming the group with his uncle Quavo, and cousin Offet. Together, the three-piece found colossal success, with their ‘Culture’ trilogy helping to re-shape commercial hip-hop in a new decade.
The Lawrenceville native from Georgia began rapping with family members Quavo and Offset in 2008 and together they have had several hits, including “Bad and Boujee,” and the group’s second studio album debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200.
