LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-UTM Party leader Dr Dalitso Kabambe has collected his presidential nomination papers ahead of the upcoming elections.
Dr Kabambe confirmed he will be on the ballot on September 16, 2025, and revealed that the party is in talks with other political parties on possible alliances, though no agreement has been made yet as discussions are still ongoing.
The former Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) Governor hinted that only when UTM is in government will they launch a fresh, thorough investigation into the June 10 plane crash to find out what truly happened and bring those responsible to justice.
Dr Kabambe said this is the only way the spirit of the late Saulos Chilima will finally rest.
He made the remarks during a candlelight memorial service at Thungwa Primary School Ground in Nkhatabay.
Meanwhile, UTM Vice President for the North, Catherine Mzumara, expressed hope that Kabambe will continue from where Chilima left off.
She therefore assured him that the votes once given to Chilima will now be his.
