UTM party officials booed in Lilongwe’s Chinsapo amid Tonse alliance collapsing

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Angry Malawians disgruntled with how President Lazarus Chakwera’s Tonse Alliance administration is running state affairs booed UTM party officials one of the key partners in the alliance in Chinsapo Lilongwe.

A bus belonging to the party which was coming from the funeral ceremony of the late former first lady Anne Chidzira Muluzi, got scolded in the township whilst calling the people in the bus thieves.

Reacting to the incident, social commentator Onjezani Kenani said it should serve as a warning to those in power

.

“The scenes at Chinsapo – where people shouted “Thieves!” at a passing UTM bus should serve as a warning to those in power,” said Kenani.

He added; “You people take us for granted. You think we are fools. You steal in broad daylight, lie to the whole world and act with impunity as you practice nepotism, the people are watching.”

Tonse Alliance government is being accused of marred with corruption as billions have been lost since they ascend in power.

UTM party leader Saulos Chilima who is also Malawi Vice President has been silent on the cries of Malawians despite numerous promises that once take reins of power, citizens will live in country of milk and honey.

But the case is very different as life has become unbearable with high cost of living.
