LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Opposition UTM and Malawi Congress Party (MCP)’s Tonse Alliance Partners’ Professionals are on Saturday, May 9, 2020 having parade in the Streets of Lilongwe, celebrating Friday’s Presidential Election Case ruling at the Supreme Court.
The MCP, UTM, AFORD and other parties have gathered at Mbowe where the parade will start from, on the way to MCP Headquarters at the City Center in Lilongwe.
UTM Spokesperson Dr Chidanti Malunga said the celebration is part of the Friday’s Ruling at the Supreme Court of Malawi on Presidential Elections Case.
“This is the parade for Different Affliate groups within UTM and MCP Party Associates and all the professionals. They are Celebrating the victory of Friday’s Ruling. You know that the Supreme Court ruled that we are going to Fresh Elections as ruled by the lower Court. So the celebration is across the country and the youth, Affiliate and the Associates probably they have to express their happiness today by marching,” Malunga explained.
He added, “The march will start where we are at Mbowe to MCP Headquarters where there is going to be more Celebration. So basically its just a Cerebration of what happened yesterday”.
The Celebration is in threefold; The Winning of the presidential election; Confirmation that the Fresh Presidential Elections will be held; and that the MCP-UTM Partnership has finally been sealed; of course by the court ruling.
