Vice President Saulos Chilima has expressed shock over the death of Bright Mangulama who, until his death on Monday, was Commissioner for the Public Service Reforms initiative.
Chilima, currently in the UK, said the commission and the country has lost a valuable asset.
“I am greatly saddened by his death. Commissioner Mangulama was one of the outstanding colleagues in the commission and was dedicated in seeing a reformed public service. And his contribution to the Mhlakho WA Ahlomwe will remain forever,” said Chilima through his spokesperson Pilirani Phiri.
Fellow commissioner Seodi White said, “I knew him for a year only but together we formed a very productive team as Commissioners. I will miss him loads especially as he sat next to me in our commission meetings and we shared quiet jokes during meetings.
I found him also highly collaborative. He met everyone at their level and would engage them in that manner. I liked him a lot and I also know two of his daughters. They must be hurting “,
President Peter Mutharika appointed Mangulama into the Civil Service and Public Service Reform commission alongside Thom Mpinganjira, Krishna Savjani, Seodi White, Evelyn Mwapasa, Howard Matiya Nkhoma, Peter Mwanza, and Ernest Kantchentche which is chaired by Vice President Saulos Chilima.
