Walter Nyamilandu Manda has last night unveiled his manifesto, titled: raising the bar, in Blantyre.
In the manifesto, the current Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President, has emphasized that time has come for Malawi Football to become a shining star through hard work, reforms and mindset change.
Nyamilandu has promised to raise the standards of football, women’s football, beach soccer, and other sports disciplines to another higher level for he has done it and seen it all.
Nyamilandu has stressed that in the next five years at the helm of football administration in the country, he will uplift the style of play to be at par with the European Football.
The FAM President further said he will commercialize football and mobilize funds to build state-of-the-art stadiums in all the three major regions of the country.
The fifteen yearlong serving FAM President, who is also FIFA Council Member, has indicated that he will also direct more attention to building good working relationships with the corporate world and the media in order to raise the levels of soccer in Malawi.
This time around, the ride is a little rougher for Nyamilandu as he will be facing his deputy, James Mwenda as one of the contestants for the presidency of football in Malawi.
In addition to Mwenda, Nyamilandu will also face Alufeyo Chipanga Banda, Moses Mkandawire and Valawala Vingula.
The FAM Presidency elections will take place on 14th of November 2019 in Mangochi.
