LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-In desperate attempt to counter Veep Saulos Chilima’s recent northern region projects visit, President Lazarus Chakwera has line up a number of visits in the region starting from Friday, May 7, 2021.
In a memo to Malawi Congress Party (MCP)’s Member of Parliament (MPs), Tonse administration main shareholder, Chakwera will have stop tours from Lumbadzi in Dowa Mzuzu City.
The President is expected to start with Lumbadzi Trading Centre, Mponera, Kasungu boma, Jenda TC then Mzuzu city.
Chakwera’s visit to the northern is surprisingly considering his veep’s Chilima tour to northern region early in April this year.
The visit is another waste of taxpayers money amid economic turmoil Malawians are going through currently.
During the visit Chilima among others told northerners especially in Karonga to get united as one front reminding them one agenda Tonse alliance had ahead of June 23, 2020’s Fresh Presidential Elections.
The tour was very successful as the veep managed to unite MCP and UTM supporters after the contested By-Election the country had in March this year.
Currently, Chilima is touring governments projects in the Southern region.
