NAIROBI-(MaraviPost)-Kenyan man, identified as Victor Ayieko, abducted his 3-year-old son in Mukuru kwa Njenga, Nairobi after sneaking into his ex-wife’s home when she had left for work before committing suicide.
Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the man hanged himself and left a suicide note with Sh500 attached to it.
The boy’s mother, Nancy Adhiambo and her husband Christopher Okeyo, learnt that her former husband had been seen leaving with the baby on a motorbike after she returned from work.
The two rushed to Ayieko’s house at the nearby Mukuru kwa Njenga only to find the baby’s lifeless body on the suspect’s bed, with Ayieko’s body hanging on an electric cable close by, Citizen Digital reported.
According to the DCI report, the suicide note had instructions asking Adhiambo to buy airtime worth the amount and inform the entire family of his demise.
The bodies of the two have been transported to the mortuary pending postmortem.
DCI has urged guardians to guarantee the safety and security of their children, by leaving them in the hands of responsible adults whenever they are away, owing to the increased cases of missing children in city.
