
Leave politics out of COVID-19—–Parliament
Parliamentary Committee Chairperson on Health Dr. Matthews Ngwale has asked politicians to leave politics out of the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
Ngwale said on Friday that COVID-19 is real and urged politicians to love their country and the people that they represent by supporting government in the fight against the pandemic. He was addressing a news conference in Lilongwe.
Parliamentary Committee Chairperson on Health Dr. Matthews Ngwale has commended Ministry of Health for the good work it is doing in mitigating COVID-19 pandemic.
Addressing the media in Lilongwe on Friday Ngwale said all tests done are genuine.
Ngwale said his Committee found the medical officers conducting laboratory tests highly qualified for the work.
Principal Secretary for Ministry of Health Dr. Dan Namarika speaks on COVID-19:
“There are some people that are critics to the Covid-19 updates; What you need to know is that we are dealing with science and the beauty with it is evidence and data. It is not something that one can just sit down and create. The evidence is there.
“The Malawi Health Service System has all our partners on the table like WHO, Centre for Disease Control and therefore, *there was no reason and motivation to fabricate the figures as they can be verified by anyone of us.
Government promotes prison wardens
Government has with immediate effect promoted all prison wardens to the rank of Sergeant, all sergeants to the rank of Geoler (Sub Inspector) and all Geolers (Sub Inspectors) to the rank of Inspector of Prisons
Malawi Prisons Spokesperson Superintendent Chimwemwe Mike Shaba has confirmed the promotions.

WHO, CDC confirm COVID-19 lab test results?
World Health Organization (WHO) and United States of America Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have said COVID-19 laboratory test results produced in the country are true and should be trusted.
WHO Country Representative Dr. Nonhlanhla Rosemary Dlamini and CDC Country Director Andrew Auld told a news conference on Friday in Lilongwe that laboratories conducting COVID-19 tests follow international specified guidelines and that those conducting the tests are well trained health personnel?
About COVID-19 cases at Kaliyeka in Lilongwe:
